Second Ashtanga Yoga Confluence dates, teacher change announced!

Big news today.

The second Ashtanga Yoga Confluence has announced its dates in 2013 and one switch on teachers.

A big one. A big replacement: Dena Kingsberg is in Richard Freeman’s spot. The other four teachers — Nancy Gilgoff, Eddie Stern, David Swenson and Tim Miller — are returning.

Also, and I know this will distress some of you, the location will be the same: San Diego, at the Catamaran Resort. Dates: Feb. 28 to March 3.

I have heard a lot of really great things about Kingsberg, and I think it is safe to say it’s a great “get” for the Confluence to bring her all the way from Australia. She’s on our teacher page, but here is a link to her site.

The Confluence also has put up its video from the first event. You can view it here. And here’s info on the 2013 event.

It looks like I’m going to be asking for a lot of time off around the beginning of 2013, with our three-week trip to India and now this.

Wow, this is exciting! They are actually doing it again.

I don’t know her personally, but from everything I’ve heard, and from reading her interview in Guruji, Dena Kingsberg sounds amazing.

(Can I be a bit of a brat and wish that it was on the East Coast? Although February in San Diego is a lot nicer, I’ll admit.)

      You may. :)

I’m a tad surprised it stayed in SD. Maybe it’s more centrally located with Dena’s coming, I assume, from Australia?

San Diego IS a lot easier to get to than the East Coast for Dena, true. It’s right that it should stay on the West Coast, I think – it’s near Encinitas, it’s warm, and the idea was born there, after all.

p.s. I’m really glad there’s another woman in the mix. That’s the feminist in me! ;)
