Little Nemo, Winsor McCay, yoga and Moon Day fun

We seem to have been on another of our serious jags, what with the Encinitas yoga fear story, Bobbie’s admitting to an Ashtanga taboo and the scary India syndrome.

And so for a change, I’d encourage you to check out Google’s latest “doodle,” this one dedicated to the great illustrator Winsor McCay.

He’s best known for the comic, “Little Nemo in Slumberland,” which enjoys its 107th anniversary today. It is absolutely awesome.

Here’s the link to get you started. Make sure you follow the stylized arrow that appears at the bottom right of the different segments.

And before you ask, yes, this is relevant to yoga and Ashtanga. Nemo’s adventures are in a different world, a wonderful and frightening one. It may be where he is his true self, where he finds yoga.

If you need it sewn together more, here’s a quote from David Garrigues in his latest blog post (one you should read): “To be truly engaged in life, living your dreams, putting your self, your creativity, your love on the line takes tremendous energy.” Little Nemo does all that.

Plus, it’s just fun. And it’s a Moon Day (for most), so it’s a good day to blow off a little steam.
